Aleksandër Stavre Drenova
Today is commemorated Aleksandër Stavre Drenova, known in the literary world with the pseudonym Asdreni. He was born in Drenovë of Korca, in 1872. At age of 13 he immigrated to Romania. In 1904 he published the first work of poetry “Rreze Dielli” for which the author Andon Zako Çajupi had written: “Now I believe that Naim (it comes to Naim Frashëri) did not die, because the empty place that he left is completed by you”. In the creative bibliography of Asdreni, are several other works that have entered into the treasury of our creativity literary as: ” Ëndrra e lot “, ” Psallmë muzgu ” and ” Këmbana e Krujës “. With the wide creative activity Asdreni did the connection between the literature of Renaissance and what was established in the years after the Declaration of Independence. He passed away on December 11th, 1947.
