A group of Bucharest Albanian immigrants, gathered at Vasil Korcari’s home, on 18 July 1881, founded the “Society of the Written Alphabet”, “The Society of Istanbul Society for Viva Albania”. In this meeting was convened an initial fund of 1700 francs for publishing books in Albanian as well as for other activities of the newly created company. The branch of Istanbul society, Bucharest and all of Romania, became active for the resurgence of the patriotic spirit among Albanian emigrants, their unification in the fight against the Albanian issue, the establishment of ties with other Albanian colonies, in Romania and elsewhere, For publishing and distributing books in Albanian language.
