Francezët zbarkuan në Korfuz, më 27 Qershor 1797. Ali Pasha u mundua ta shfrytëzojë këtë, për të forcuar marrëdhëniet me Francën dhe Bonapartin, për realizimin e planeve të tij separatiste, për t’u shkëputur nga varësia e Portës. Ai mori nga komandanti francez, armatime dhe instruktorë ushtarakë.

The French deployed to Corfu on June 27th, 1797. Ali Pasha tried to use this, to strengthen relations with France and Bonaparte, for the realization of his separatist plans to break away from the Sublime Gate’s dependence. He received from the French commander, armaments and military instructors.
