The Codex “Vatiheanus Greaus” number 103, kept in the Central State Archives, is an important monument of our national culture. It was handwritten in 1226, at St. Andrea’s monastery near Kruja, at that time the center of the Principality of Arbër. In this codex, is included a metric epitaph, devoted to archaic of Arbanon, Konstantin Mele. There are also several epigrams of Dhimitri of Arberia, which testify to the history of this principality and the autochthony of Albanians in their lands.
