Today our nation commemorates with a deep pain the victims of Otranto tragedy. This Friday Kateri of Rada went from Vlora with 104 people, to the shores of Italy. The ship was hit by the Italian ship “Sibel”. 84 unfortunate passengers, among whom were women and children were died by the waves of the sea. The Italian government launched a operation to find the bodies of the drowned. After much research, only 60 bodies were found. This Friday is commemorated as the greatest maritime tragedy of Albanians.
