In the suburbs of Korca, in the hill of Shëndellia on April 5th, 1914, the national forces fought with the regular Greek army units. Other Greek units were stopped by the Albanian patriots in Mborje. As a result of the determined resistance of the Greeks they were forced to retreat, leaving several dead. Inside the city the Greek extremists and their agents did several murders between them and Father Harallamb Ballmaçin. The Bishop of Korca and four other Greeks were found guilty of rioting in the city. They were arrested and sent to Elbasan to be judged. The national forces made some operations in the whole city. They found many guns and eight Greek soldiers, who had come secretly from Greece and Macedonia.
