The war on Agri’s neck, which took place on July 5, 1910, was among the most important battles of the anti-Ottoman uprising. There were about 500 rebel fighters led by Mehmet Shpendi, with 3000 regular Ottoman soldiers. Two weeks in a row, insurgents broke the ongoing Turkish infantry attacks, backed by artillery fire.
