At the age of 87, on August 29, 1989, in Tirana, died the distinguish activist of the Albanian school and education, Kole Koci. He was born and grew up in a simple artisan family, in Pogradec. After the elementary school, in September 1918 he began the sacred assignment of the teacher: he taught the ABC to the small villagers of Cerrava. After 6 years of teaching, he is enrolled by Elbasan’s Normali pupil. The young learner is teaching until the opportunity to attend the Pedagogical Faculty at the University of Lyon is reestablished. He graduated in 1934 and became a teacher at the Shkodra Gymnasium and then the district education inspector. But with this assignment, he is transferred to the prefecture of Gjirokastra. For many years, he has carried out important duties in the Ministry of Education.
