28 August 1939, the Senate of Venice takes over Kruja city and the surrounding lands at the request of Helena Topia

The Senate of Venice, gathered on August 28, 1393, decided that Kruja and the surrounding lands, which at this time belonged to the Republic, at the request of Venetian citizen Mark Barbarig and his wife Helena Topia, daughter of Karl Topia, In their administration, provided they applied there Venetian legislation on civil and criminal matters and committed the oath of allegiance.
