In the Albanian audience the creativity of Victor Hugo, who was born on February 26th, 1802, was introduced for the first time in 1931 by Muharrem Pirdoni, with the translation of the summary of the novel “Të mjerët”. Other known translators as: Sotir Caci, Lasgush Poradeci, Misto Treska, Bujar Deka, Milto Sotir Gura, Enver Fico, etc. brought in Albanian 25 volumes of Hugo, which were published and republished in Tirana and Pristina. Among them some of the masterpieces of the writer as the novels “Njeriu që qesh”, “Të mjerët”, “Viti nëntëdhjetë e tre” etc.
