On February 26th, 1823, in Franishte, Cosenza was born the arbëresh Vincens Dorsa. He was a Albanian researcher and an excellent connoisseur of Greek. In his work “Mbi shqiptarët, gjurmime dhe mendime”, published in 1847, are treated different sides of the Albanian history and culture. For the arbëresh parlance he published in 1962 “Studime etimologjike” and then adapted in arbëresh dialect “Ungjillin pas Mateut”. He published many materials and folkloric studies. A special merit of this researcher is the collection of folk songs of Calabria.
