In December 1494, in South-WesternAlbania, broke out the anti-Ottoman uprising. The chronicler Stefano Manjos describes it: “Albanians are standing … and so strongly has dropped the Turks who lived on the coast … especially in Vlora and many other countries … that Turks left the mentioned seaboards and withdrew in the interior areas”.
