In Fransite, Calabria, was born the writer and linguist arbëresh Francesco Solana, nicknamed Dusko Vetmo. At the age of 20 he immigrated to Argentina, where he lived and worked for 20 years. Among the arberesh he became known by his literary works in prose and poetry, with stories, novels and his dramas. As researcher he became the titular and leaded the Albanian Language Department at the University of Cosenza.
