The prominent writer and journalist EsatMekuli Kosovo, was born in Plave, on December 17th, 1916. He finished the high school in Peja, and pursued after his studies in Croatia, Italy and graduated in veterinary medicine at the University of Belgrade. His journalistic career began as editor of illegal newspaper “Liria” during World War II.After the war, until he retired, he directed the literary magazine “Jeta e re”. He wrote in Albanian and Serbian, and we face his namein all the notebooks of the time.He was a member and president of the Academy of Sciences and Arts and chief editor of the Encyclopedia of Yugoslavia for Kosovo.
