In St. Mitër, Calabria, on January 13th, 1913 was born the arbëresh patriot and fighter for freedom and democracy, called Domenik Mauri. He was one of the most prominent leaders of the 1848 revolution, in Calabria and after a period of migration in the Ionian Islands and Rome, became one of thousand Giuseppe Garibaldi followers, by gone after to Marseille. Domenik Mauri is also known as eminent poet who wrote verses only in Italian language.
