Our well-known patriot Pashko Vasa was born in Shkodra on 17th September 1827. He took his first lessons in his birthplace, there he worked like a translator and the secretary of the British Consulate, there he wrote and published the first articles with nicknames “Albanus Albano”, “PV”, “Vasa Efendi”, there he did his first researches. He spoke perfectly Italian, French, English, Turkish and Greek language. He published some studies and literary works, but the poem “o moj Shqypni” is the symbol of the Nation Renaissance and this poem made the author a well-known personality.
