Two anniversaries to keep in mind for the Albanian language and education in the mother tongue

12th October found the city of Struga much more Albanian than never.

25 years before, for the Albanians of Struga, someone wanted to turn off the light of the Albanian education, but this light was kindled in Ladorisht.  It cannot be close so easily the road of learning in the mother tongue. The 25th anniversary of “Hajdar Dushi” high school and the 10th anniversary of “Ibrahim Temo” school were commemorated with some ceremonies.

The Honorary President of QMKSH, Mr.Shpëtim Sala, participated in those ceremonies with the invite of the head of Struga municipality Mr.Zaidin Sela and the Director of Department for Public Activities (Education, Culture, Sport…) Mr. Xhemi Hajredini.

“Hajdar Dushi” high school was established on October 1991, in the conditions of a heavy Slav-Macedonian repression over the Albanian population.  In a time when the rights were violated, this fiery hearth of the Albanian education gave wings to the old aspiration of Albanians educating the children in Albanian language.

The establishment of “Hajdar Dushi” high school before 25 years in Ladorisht, even the establishment of “Dr.Ibrahim Tamo” high school before 10 years, the majority population (Albanians) supported these initiatives which have for the purpose the preservation and development of the educational process in Albanian language in the city edge of Drini.

Many citizens, students, teachers, veterans of education participated in the ceremonies held for this event. There were represents of the local power and religious community. Also there were the descendants, nephew and niece of Ibrahim Tamo, Ivzi dhe Lumturi Rizvani.

The name “Hajdar Dushi” it keeps also the school headed by Mr.Bedri Cahani in Gjakova. Mr. Shpëtim Sala donated his book “Ibrahim Temo in the archives of QMKSH” to the director of the “Ibrahim Temo” school, Mr. Xheladin Muça in Struga.  In his speech Mr. Sala highlighted the precious contribute of Ibrahim Temo in the establishment of the Patriotic Clubs and the first Albanian school in Struga.  The artistic program prepared lovingly by the students of this school was part of this activity, and then the evening covered the city. Mrs. Lumturi Rizvani greeted the participants who were gathered in “Drini” hotel. The head of Struga municipality, the Mufti of city Salim Sulejman and many other personalities honored this event.

From Tirana the evaluation for the hospitality and respect goes especially for goes for Mr. Xhemi Hajredini. As an authentic Albanian he took care that we could feel like in our home in Struga.
