In Tirana, on December 2nd, 1924 was born the geologist and distinguished professor, Prof Eshref Pumo. He was graduated at the Academy of Mining in Krakow, Poland and later served on the Albanian Geological Service. For many years, he has lectured and directed as Dean the Faculty of Geology and Mining at the University of Tirana, has prepared texts and geological maps, published numerous articles, studies and monograph’s and has directed as editor “the Bulletin of the Geological Sciences”.
