With the initiative of Avni Rustemi, on July 17, 1921, was established in Gjirokastra, “Teachers’ League”. At the founding meeting, the statute and a call addressed to the teachers were adopted throughout Albania. After the establishment of the Teachers’ League in Gjirokastra, such progressive organizations were created in Durres, Shkodra and elsewhere.
