On May 14th, 1948, was established the state of Israel. The diplomatic relations between our two countries were established only in 1991, but the friendship between our two nations is very early and very human. It is not the case that during the centuries of Israeli persecution in other countries, they have always found shelter and protection in Albanian territories. This also happened during World War II. During the Holocaust, when more than 6 million Jews were destroyed by the Nazifies, none of them was affected in our country, and even many families from European and Balkan countries found refuge in Albania.
