On April 12th, 1997, Leka Zogu returned to Tirana with the royal family. He was just a newborn baby when the royal retinue escaped on April 7th, 1939. The Congress of Përmeti had banned the return to Albania for the royal family. Leka Zogu proclaimed in Paris king of Albania, in 1991 returned to his hometown in a serious time crisis for the country.
