The first Penal Code in Albania came into force on April 1st, 1929. It was formed by the French civil code, which also treated the marriage and family issues. For the inheritance unresolved conflicts in the regions of Shkodra, Dibra and Kosovo, were implemented the norms of Lek Dukagjin and Kanun of Skanderbeg.
