In New York, United States, January 9th, 1976 died Abaz Kupi serviceman and politician. He served as commander of the gendarmerie in Kruja and Durrës. OnApril 7th, 1939, he took part in the resistance against the fascist occupation. He was one of the participants of the Conference of Peza, where he was elected a member of the Anti- fascistNational Council as well as the initiator of the Conference of Mukje, and after her failure, he left Albania, and actively participated in the activities of the Committee “Shqipëria e lirë”, operating in the United States and in Western Europe in the Cold War years.
