For almost two months, continued the Konispol War that began on August 5, 1943. To protect the borders of the Homeland, the partisans of the “Chameria” battalion were faced with numerous armed Nazis armed to the teeth coming from Greece. In this frontal battle, 30 Albanian partisans and four Italian anti-fascists came to life, embedded in the “Chameria” battalion. Even after so many years, the battle of Konispol is solemnly commemorated by the Committee of Veterans of the Saranda Anti-fascist National Liberation War and the Municipality of Konispol.
