From the letter from Father Bernardin from Shkodra, dated June 4, 1500, we learn about the reception of John Kastriot, Skanderbeg’s son, by Albanian rebels. In Lezha, the paper says, “New Scanderbeg is expected, just as the Messiah (Christ) is expected of the Jews.” John came to the Albanian lands, together with Span Dukagjini. Regarding Skanderbeg’s new plans, “how to get the island of Lezha and how to fortify it with any fortification, will surround Shkodra and Kruja and all other places.” But as it is known, he did not succeed in his plans.
