For the fascist leaders in Rome, it was disturbing the wave of the protests against the aggression that was preparing. On April 4th, 1939 in Bologna, “a battalion mobilized to Albania, walked by singing ‘we want peace, not war.” The present officers did not intervene and that, as Ciano states “infuriated Mussolini”. On that day in Tirana, the high school students prepared demonstrations and with the national flag and patriotic songs passed through the “28 November” road. With them were joined the students of the technical school as well as many common citizens. They addressed to the Royal Palace and the Italian Embassy, throwing anti-fascist slogans and demanding weapons to cope the aggression.
