Today is commemorated the cleric, the patriot, from Chameria Murat Haxhi Cami, who never separated the religious service by that patriot. Murati as the head of the Madrasah of Istanbul served as imam in Konispol. He was among the initiators and supporters of the opening of the Albanian club in 1909. In 1916, he immigrated to the United States. There he collaborated with “Vatra” and the patriotic press of Albanian immigrants. He became the initiator of many memorandums, letters and telegrams of protest in defence of freedom and independence, territorial integrity of the Fatherland. Murat Cami is distinguished as a poet. After the fascist occupation of the country, Murati joined to the National Liberation War. He passed away on April 4th, 1957.
