On March 24th, 1999, NATO began the bombing over Yugoslavia. On that day the Serbian military launched the massacre called “tragedy of teachers” in the village of Godes, where were murdered 20 Albanian teachers. At the same time, the Serbian soldiers began the ethnic cleansing of Albanian civilians. They forced the Albanians to abandon their homes and flee toward the Albanian border.
