The weekly political, religious and literary newspaper, “The Orthodox League”, came to Korca on July 23, 1909, under the direction of Mihal Gramenos. He demolished the chauvinist politics of neighboring states, fought for the introduction of Albanian as a language of ministry in Orthodox churches. The newspaper was co-operating with Hil Mosi, Sotir Peci, Thanas Tashko, etc. It was closed by a Turkish court decision because it denounced the inhumane acts of the Ottoman army against Albanian freedom fighters.
