In Naples, Italy, on August 23, 1848, was published the first number of the newspaper “The Albanian of Italy”, which was published and directed by our great Jeronim de Rada. It is known as the first newspaper in the Albanian press. The political, social and literary notebook was published in the Italian and Arbëresh language. For the first time, this newspaper also published part of the poem of François Anton Santoré, “Kenget e Serafina Topia”. This newspaper submitted a request for recognition of the rights of arberesh, for the Albanian language and school.
