On September 22nd 1952, was opened the High Medical Institute in our capital, the first institution for the preparation of the Albanians doctors with different profiles. With the establishment of the University of Tirana, this institute was included as one of the faculty of the University. The High Medical Institute and later on Medical Faculty have prepared many doctors, dentists, pharmacists, who are working in all over Albania.
