Elena Gjika has left a rich correspondence with many Albanian and foreign personalities that constitute important documents of our history. In the letter that she writes to De Rada on January 20th, 1870 she addresses the problem of the rewriting of the history of our country, “It is the time, she says, that our history be eradicated from the place where the Pharisees buried “, because according to her ” Albanian history is covered with dark clouds, it is our duty to eradicate them”.
