Vilhelm Vidi, the Prince of German origin, elected by the Great Powers in 1913 to the head of the Albanian State, died on April 18th, 1945. He went in Durrës in 1914 and established his own government, made concessions in favour of Great Powers and Greek chauvinists. With the beginning of World War I, he left Albania in September 1914, after six months of reign.
