In Oranje of Librazhd, on May 14th, 1921, was born Haxhi Hafiz Sabri Koci, former chairman of the Council of the Muslim Community of Albania. For 15 years, he attended the private religious school. At the age of 17, he served as an imam at Drisht, Shkodra. Then he served in several mosques of Shkodra, Kruja, and Kavaja. In 1966, he was arrested and sentenced to 22 years in prison. After release, in 1986, he worked as a laborer until 1990, when began the democratic processes. In this atmosphere, he provided his contribution to the resurgence and spread of Muslim faith, banned by the communist regime, for setting up shrines and governing structures. Since the beginning of this process, he was elected to the head of the Muslim Committee of Albania and directed him as he was alive.
