On March 10th, 1937, the press of the time wrote about the beginning of the ceremony of the works for the construction of the infamous prison of Burrel. The “Drita” newspaper calls it an “act of civilization”. For the construction of the prison in the budget was anticipated a fund of 100,000 gold francs, that for the time was too large. According to the plan, it can afford about 2,000 prisoners.
