The prominent prose writer and dramaturge Jakov Xoxa was born in Fier, on February 8th, 1923. He finished the primary and secondary school in his hometown, while the high school for literature in Bulgaria. He began to write and publish since in the school desks. The first volume that was published was “The novel”. In 1965, he published his masterpiece the novel “Dead River,” that talks about the life of the poor villager. This topic is treated in his other works as “White Juga”, “The flower of salt”, etc. Also, he has written theatre parts as “Heart” and “Rumble of Vjosa”.
