Sinan Imami, one of the doctors who organized and directed the Military Medical Service in Albania, was born in Përmet on February 2nd, 1905. He studied at Korça Lyceum of and won a scholarship to study military medicine in France. Started the studies in Montepelje and graduated in Sorbonne. In January 1944 serves as a doctor in the garrison of Tirana. After the liberation he was appointed at the Military Hospital, where he worked for 25 years.
