The teacher and prominent researcher Lirak Dodbiba was born in Elbasan, in November 1912. He took the first lessons in his hometown and in Italy and was graduated at the University of Lyon in psychology. After returning in his homeland he was appointed inspector of Education in Berat. In April 1941, together with many other teachers, he went as a volunteer to teach in schools of Kosovo. After returning in homeland he taught at the Technical Institute “Karl Gega” in high school in Tirana and then in the Pedagogical Institute, that was opened in Tirana. He has left 6 methodologies of teaching of the Albanian language, textbooks for pedagogy, psychology and logic; he is the author of the Terminological vocabulary, technical and scientific in three languages for 17 branches of science, co-author of the Linguistic Atlas of the Mediterranean that is published by the Foundation Grigorio Cini di Venezia. In collaboration with the professor Petar Elezi they have prepared and published the text “The grammar of the Albanian language”. Dodbiba was awarded with the title “Honored Teacher “, “Old Scientific Collaborator” and is decorated with several medals and orders. He passed away on February 14th, 1982.
