Writer and politician Besnik Mustafaj has been honored with the author of the year at the Book Fair in Pristina with the novel “The Dream of the Doctor”, published by Toena.
Mustafaj is happy about the award at the ceremony where the other awards of this Fair were shared.
“I’m not from those skull-type writers, who does not matter if someone reads them. I’m glad that there are people who read my work.
I would say that a writer who writes in a small language by the number of readers, like the Albanian language, always doubt whether they will be read and go through cultural confusion. This Fair marks a celebration for the book, but it is also the heroism of bookmakers, “writer Mustafaj said in his speech.
Through the grotesque, Mustafaj in his book “Doctor’s Dream” touches his favorite threads as a link to history and relationship memory, while estimating a century something has not changed.
He restored Andon Zako Cajupi, Doctor Adhamudh’s protagonist, to satirize today’s politicians, but giving the character the dimension of all-time into the issues he carries and conveys.
