On November 12th, 1944 were executed without trial some prominent personalities of the Albanian intellectual life. Vesim Kokalari, engaged in the establishment of a publishing house and a participant in the War of Vlora was executed on this date. Also, Syrja Kokalari, who studied in Italy, suffered the same fate.
