In the battle that was held, in the hills of Durresi, dated on October 18th, 1081, between Norman and Byzantine army, the Emperor Aleks Komneni, suffered a complete defeat. Forced to retire, the command of the garrison of the town, commissioned an Albanian functionary, which faced the siege until the February 1082.
