On September 21st 2000, the founder of the Albanian modern roman Sterjo Spase after his death was honored with the Supreme Order “Golden Naim Frasheri” with the motivation “For the rich creativity and artistic value in the field of prose, especially in the genre of the novel”. He has treated important social and historical topics, in which is immortalized the popular life and war and for the democracy and national liberation for wide educational activities and sincere effort of understanding and friendship between the peoples of the Balkans.
