The Ambassadors Conference in London on August 11, 1913, established a special commission with the participation of representatives of six major powers, for setting the borders between Albania and Greece. After fieldwork, the commission went to Florence, Italy, where it formulated the Protocol, which is named after this city. The Florence Protocol is in force today, with the exception of some minor ratifications that took place in the area of Korça after the First World War.
