At the University “Aristotle” in Thessaloniki on March 27th, 1998, was held the official ceremony to award the title “Honorary Doctor of Science”, to Prof. Dr. Rexhep Meidani, then President of the Republic of Albania. “This is an evaluation of the scientific activity of Professor Meidani not only in Albania but also in other countries, such as France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, United States of America,” said in his speech the Rector of the University of Thessaloniki. During 50 years, he noted, this title is awarded by a small number of researchers, while Professor Rexhep Meidani is ranked after the last three Nobel Laureates who have been evaluated by the university.
