The Assembly of Republic of Albania on January 27th, 1995, approved the “Criminal Code of the Republic of Albania”. This replaced the “Criminal Code of the People’s Republic of Albania” approved by law no. 5591, dated June 15th, 1977. The new code came into force in June of that year.
