The Monastery of Saint Mary in Mat, on June 7, 1594, convened the General Assembly of Albania for the drafting of the country’s uprising and liberation project. The Assembly also attended the supporters of the agreement with the Republic of Venice. The assembly said of the general uprising, the knights Tom Plezha and Mark Gjini, who were serving Venice, was tasked with Bishop Nicholas McCauley to enter into talks with Papat for co-operation in the implementation of the uprising project.
