Today is commemorated the anniversary of the murder of Gani Jetishi, correspondent of the newspaper “Rilindja” and for many years, actor and director of the National Theater of Gjakova. He was born in 1934. He graduated from the University of Sarajevo for French Language and Literature. After completing his studies, he taught at the Normal School in Gjakova. But he was passionate about the stage and the theater. He started playing at the National Theater of Gjakova, where he was appointed director of the institution. He was the second professional theater in Kosovo; on his stage, Gani Jetishi played 20 years in a row. In fact the dramatic career he started in 1951 at the Pristina Theater, where he debuted for two consecutive years. Over the years he has made dozens of first roles in Albanian dramas and foreign authors. He was especially prominent in the role of Jonuz, in the drama “Epoka para gjyqit”, Demir Bey of “Besa”, of Refiku in ” Kush nuk vdes, nuk eshte njeri “, of Tosuni in ” Njeriu me top” etc. He has also translated some parts that were put on the stage.
