On September 24th , 1457 Albanian fighters who fell in the battle of Albulena, were buried in the Cathedral of Saint Mary, at Shumeri village, three kilometers away from Mamurras, which was destroyed afterwards from the Turkish. The albanologist Johan von Hahn has written regarding this chapel. It was about 25 meters length and 18 meters width. Besides numerous icons, It was decorated with two rows of frescos.
