On November 24th, 1919 in Shkodra, was born the Committee chairman of the Albanian Muslim of America and Canada, patriotic cleric and the scholar, Imam Vehbi Ismaili. He took the first lessons in Shkodra, Kruja,Tirana and graduated at the Faculty of Theology of Cairo University. He immigrated to the USA, for the running of religious affairs. There he built the first mosques and in July 1993, was elected chairman of the Islamic Committee. He became the initiator of the publication of the magazine “Thirrje islamike” From his pen have come 46 religious books, original works and translations.
