In 1923, when all Albania was stuck in the poverty and famine, there were many revolts and unrest. In Vlora, on March 19th, over 300 villagers come from the surrounding villages but also from Kurveleshi, Tepelena, Mallakastra and Himara, after a protest rally against the government who raised the price of the corn, attacked the depots of the speculators and separated the corn.
